Frontier Co-op® Bulk Organic Red Raspberry Leaf (Rubus idaeus L.) is a pleasant-tasting, caffeine-free herb commonly used in teas and DIY herbal body care items and products. Our fresh raspberry leaves combine well with other kinds of herbs to provide a flavorful and robust boost to beverages. Raspberry carries tannins that contribute to the slightly-acidic note of this flavorful herb.
Despite what the name would suggest, red raspberry leaves don't taste like raspberry at all. Their flavor is more akin to a fruity, black tea that has a similar flavor to Earl Grey. Red raspberry leaves are sweeter and bolder than leaves used in other teas. Our Bulgarian farmers remove the young and vibrant leaves from the cane, wash and dry them thoroughly, and process them for a high-quality blend that provides superior flavor.
FAQs
Q: How do I make red raspberry leaf tea?A: Steep 1—2 tsp. of dried red raspberry leaf in 8 fl. oz. of just-boiled water, covered, for 5—10 minutes, then strain. For iced tea, double the amount of leaf and pour the hot tea over ice.
Q: Does red raspberry leaf tea taste like raspberries?
A: No. Frontier Co-op® Red Raspberry Leaf is the dried leaf only, with no fruit, so the tea tastes like a mild, earthy black tea without the caffeine. Add honey, lemon, or a pinch of hibiscus if you want a fruity flavor.
Q: Where is this raspberry leaf grown?
A: Frontier Co-op® Organic Red Raspberry Leaf is grown in Albania and Bulgaria
Q: What does cut & sifted mean for raspberry leaf?
A: Cut & sifted red raspberry leaf is dried leaf cut into small, uniform pieces with stems and plant dust sifted out, so it measures like loose tea and steeps evenly.
